How to Start a Discipleship Triad

6 weeks, book study

Leader: Leslie Layton

Jesus made disciples by pouring His life into a few men and women. Today, disciple-making is done when we intentionally walk alongside others in order to grow toward maturity in Christ. By gathering together in twos or threes to study the Bible and encourage one another, we follow Jesus’ example with his own disciples. This course helps you establish authentic relationships that are based upon the truth of God’s word and mutual accountability. The result is transformed lives.

Nehemiah: A Heart That Can Break by Kelly Minter

7 weeks, workbook/DVD study

Leader: Ali Long

Nehemiah’s heart was so broken for those in need that he left the comfort of his Persian palace to help them. Are you ready to let God break your heart for a hurting and lost world and move you in compassion to be the hands and feet of Jesus?

Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman’s Soul by John and Stasi Eldredge

6 weeks, workbook/DVD Study

Your heart matters more than anything else in all creation. The desires you had as a little girl and the longings you still feel as a woman are telling you of the life God created you to live. He offers to come now as the Hero of your story, to rescue your heart and release you to live as a fully alive and feminine woman. A woman who is truly captivating.

11 weeks, workbook/DVD study

Leader: Reta Kae Denning

God will never give up on you. Explore how David’s life proves this promise to be true. In this examination of the man after God’s own heart, David will delight and disappoint you. You’ll want to be just like him at times and nothing like him at other times. If you’ve ever experienced doubts, temptations, losses, family problems, or personal inconsistencies this study is for you.

Interrupted: When Jesus Wrecks Your Comfortable Christianity  by Jen Hatmaker

5 weeks, workbook/DVD study

Leader: Kelley Hastings

The American Dream and Christianity Aren’t the Same Thing! God is in the business of interrupting what we think our lives are about. Jen Hatmaker argues that we have missed the point, confusing Christianity with the American Dream and manipulating Scripture to say what we want it to say. Interrupted is about freedom from consumer-driven Christianity and getting back to the true faith, real life, real justice, real religion.

This study guides you in identifying, understanding, and speaking your spouse’s primary love language—quality time, words of affirmation, gifts, acts of service, or physical touch. By understanding and strengthening your relationships, you can build a lasting, loving marriage together.

Made to Crave: Satisfying Your Deepest Desire With God, Not Food  by Lysa Terkeurst

7 weeks, workbook/DVD study

Leader: Dee McCollum

Made to Crave isn’t a how-to book or a diet plan. The truth is, it’s much more than that. It’s the missing link between a woman’s desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment needed to make it happen. Lysa Terkeurst taps into the desires God gave us to consume food without letting it consume us. She reminds readers that craving isn’t a bad thing, but we must remember that God wants us to crave more of Him, not food. This book is the necessary companion for you to use alongside whatever healthy lifestyle plan you choose.
